Facebook

So...since I've decided to start new things I've also decided to go on Facebook - something else I never thought I'd do. Don't know why I decided to do that, but I figured since I'm doing so much else new and different in my life I might as well go whole hog and worm my way into the social networking spotlight and 'friend' the 21st century!

Along with trying to figure out how to put wallpaper on my blog, I'm trying to figure out the difference between putting photos on my Facebook 'wall' and putting photos into a Facebook album. Probably no difference, or not much difference, but there's something subtle there that I'm missing I'm sure. Prolly need an 8 year old to help me.

The First One...

So I've begun a blog - something I thougth I'd never do. There is always a first for everything, isn't there... The next question is why? Why did I do this? Maybe I just wanted "somebody" to listen to me who'd never interrupt me! This stream of consciousness thing is quite tempting... (Is there a spell check on blogging?) Actually I'm hoping to utilize this blog as a virtual PDA of sorts, keeping track of other blogs/websites with great information regarding stamping and scrapbooking, possibly gardening, so that I can get to all this information when I need it.

I see so many talented people readily sharing their knowledge on websites and blogs and I never seem to be able to find it when I want to. That is my main reason for beginning this blog - to keep my information flow more consistently organized.

There is lots of stuff I need to organize. I remember attending a Stampin'Up demo a few years ago where one of the ladies there mentioned that she kept a list of every book she read. That way, she'd never read the same book twice. Initially I laughed and thought she was a moron. Then I had to laugh at myself and call myself a moron! HOW many times have I begun a book, only to think, gee, this sounds so familiar. Hopefully that particular book was one my Mom gave me in a bag of books she got from a book exchange and I didn't fork over $6.95 for it!! So...if you eventually see a list of books I've read on this blog, you'll realize that maybe I've learned from calling someone else a moron in the past!

What else do I want to organize? How about books I want to buy? I don't usually buy novels; I buy reference books. Gardening, cooking, craft: sewing, scrapbooking, stamping, painting, etc. types of books. I'll read about a book and think that this is one I'd like to own someday, then promptly forget the title/author/topic. My blog will be a great place to keep that list. And who knows, maybe someday I might even become techie enough to have a cell phone that is web-enabled so I can check my lists when I'm at the flea market!

Hey - As a stamper, we've all seen Pigs Fly!!
